I purchased this vacuum on sale from Amazon.com on November 28, 2022. Features in its favor were that it is cordless, lightweight, and had great reviews. Oh. And it was $159.99. Which is a pretty good price. Not a steal. But not super expensive either.
After using it for a short time it impressed me so I bought a second one on December 16, 2022.
One of them has been used exclusively in the room where we're fostering three barn cats we rescued from our goat shed. Its been through some tough times cleaning cat litter, cat hair, and other dirt from the room. It's been doing so for over a year. After 11 months the on switch no longer worked.
I took it apart and cleaned out layers and layers of cat litter dust. The one switch ended up being a cheap, simple button that I already had on hand for another project (linked below). Once I'd removed the old button and soldered on the new, the power button worked as before.
The foam and Hepa filters are difficult to find replacements for. We've been washing ours, letting them dry, and they've been working still. So maybe it's not as big of a deal as I thought? It just always feel weird to not have access to replacement parts for my devices.
Functionally, it does what I need. But the lack of replacement supplies reduces my review rating.
